The HK11 is a German light support machine gun (LSMG), developed in 1971 by Heckler & Koch and is essentially the HK G3 automatic rifle fitted with a heavier barrel for the light support machine gun role.
The HK11 built upon the highly successful HK21 and added utility and versatility by introducing modularity to the feed system, the LSMG could be configured to use belt fed ammo, steel G3 magazines or 50 round drum style magazine in a matter of minutes.
